OUR PATH

The Three Medicines

Healing involves different forms of medicine that address every dimension of one's well-being.

心藥Medicine for the Mind

The mind is treated first, because everything else follows from it. Through sitting practice and the discipline of attention, we work with restlessness, agitation and scattered thinking — not by suppressing them, but by learning to meet them steadily.

Practices

  • Zen Cultivation
  • Meditation
  • Mindfulness
物藥Tangible Medicine

Tangible medicine is the care you can point to: the diagnosis, the needle, the herb, the hands. Treatment is assessed individually and delivered in person at the clinic in Markham.

Practices

  • Physical Medicine
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine Remedies
  • Acupuncture
法藥Intangible Medicine

Intangible medicine is what you take with you: a daily practice. These are methods of training the breath and the body that have been passed down through the Shaolin tradition, taught here step by step.

Practices

  • Qigong
  • Breathing Practices
  • Changing Tendons Practice (Yijin Jing 易筋經)
  • Marrow Washing Practice (Xisui Jing 洗髓經)
  • Shaolin Practices

The three are not alternatives to choose between. They are one practice, approached from three directions.
