Traditional Chinese Medicine Consultation

Individualized assessment for pain, digestion, sleep, fatigue, menstrual health, stress-related symptoms, and overall wellbeing.

Professional service description

Traditional Chinese Medicine is a whole-person system of care that examines patterns rather than focusing on a single symptom in isolation. A consultation may include a detailed health history, discussion of current concerns, observation, and traditional assessment methods such as tongue and pulse examination. The practitioner considers how symptoms relate to sleep, digestion, energy, stress, lifestyle, and constitutional tendencies, then develops an individualized care plan.

Depending on the assessment, recommendations may involve acupuncture, cupping, other TCM techniques, diet and lifestyle guidance, or referral to another healthcare professional. The aim is to support symptom management, functional wellbeing, and a more balanced daily routine while respecting the patient’s existing medical care.

ImportantTCM care may be used as supportive care for stress-related tension, difficulty unwinding, disrupted sleep, and the physical effects of a demanding lifestyle. It is not a replacement for diagnosis or treatment by a physician, psychologist, psychiatrist, or other qualified mental-health professional. Patients experiencing severe distress, thoughts of self-harm, or an emergency should seek immediate medical assistance.

Physical concerns patients commonly discuss

  • Muscle and joint discomfort, stiffness, and recurring pain
  • Headaches, migraine-related symptoms, and neck or shoulder tension
  • Digestive discomfort, bloating, appetite changes, or irregular bowel habits
  • Fatigue, low energy, and difficulty recovering from a demanding routine
  • Menstrual discomfort, cycle-related symptoms, and menopausal concerns
  • Sleep difficulties and stress-related physical tension
InsuranceMaking supportive care more accessible: most extended healthcare plans provide coverage for eligible TCM and/or acupuncture services. Annual limits, referral requirements, practitioner eligibility, and covered services vary by policy.
